Firstly, we interacted with a person, Peter, coming from Shanghai. “I have been worked with my partner in Hong Kong since April, 2014,” Peter claimed. He thought Soho’s hotel provided convenience for his business and was comfortable to live there. In fact, Peter’s office locates at Queen’s Road Central. If he chooses a hotel in Soho, he can walk to his office within 10 minutes without any traffic worry. Therefore, he decided to live in Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Soho. “The hotel was out of my expectation.” He stated. Although the hotel locates at the central of city, the hotel could provides acceptable price and enough facilities for him. He could see the whole view of Soho and Central through his room and he especially appreciated the night view.

Beside, Peter showed that Soho can satisfy his interest. “I like drinking beer after finishing my works. It was useful for me to relax.” He claimed. It is all known that there are many bars in Soho. Before Peter came to Hong Kong, his friends had suggested that he should live in Soho because he could enjoy beer anytime. He thought those bars’ atmosphere was as similar as Shanghai and it created a sense of home for him.

Another person is Jenny and she has lived in Hong Kong for nearly eleven years. There are three reasons that Jenny loves Soho
very much. Firstly, “I live in Peel Street which is near Mid-Levels escalators. Compared with the mansions in same area, my rent of house is economical,” Jenny said. She was happy that she did not need to pay high rent and could save more money. Actually, those houses are prosperous but quiet. If the price is reasonable, it is worth to live. Secondly, “I do not like cooking and always require to eat outside. However, I do not need to have any trouble for my lunch or dinner in Soho, “Jenny stated.

Initially, we just observed a man standing on the road. He smoked and communicated with his friends. After a person shouted “Halo, please give me a cup of coffee.” He immediately put out and came back his shop to produce coffee. People could easily see the whole things inside this shop because the wall is transparent. Some people were using computer; some people were listening to music; some people were look around the shop. The most attractive thing was that there was a dog sitting in front of the shop. Then, we played with the dog and talked with the man. “I’ve live here for thirty years and there have been changed so much.” He thought the development of this district was too fast and some traditional culture were disappearing, for example, buildings”

Soho is very convenient.

I like shopping in Soho.

Many magazines show that there are many restaurants in Soho and people could easily enjoy special cuisine. Jenny introduced and recommended a Thai restaurant for us, which was closely to her home. The dishes of this restaurant were worth to eat especially, Tom yum. Finally, “I really like shopping in Soho in weekend. You could easily find what you want,” Jenny said. In Soho, there are many featured stores. “I always have window shopping in a shop selling furniture. You will find many unique designs and one of the Antique lamps in this shop is my favorite,” Jenny emphasized. Jenny stated that she had live in different districts in Hong Kong but Soho was the best.
